Beginner Sock Weekend

February 25, 26,27.

 Friday 5-7 pm, Saturday 2-5 pm, Sunday 10-12.    $150

Enter the endless world of socks!   You will knit a mini “learning sock” and also work on a house sock/slipper.   The goal is to learn the process and develop the skills; you will not have a pair of socks at the end, but you will be able to finish your pair at home.

You need to know how to confidently cast on and knit and purl.  If you know how to knit in the round and increase and decrease that’s a bonus and very helpful.

You bring:  Light coloured DK or light worsted yarn (200m) (wool/nylon combo or 100% wool- superwash) Gauge of 20-22 st/10 cm on 4mm needle.    i.e Cascade 220 superwash.

A small amount of the same weight yarn- light colour.

Two circular needles: one 4mm or smaller, any length.  One 4mm and 32” or 40” in length.

Removable stitch markers, small crochet hook, small tapestry or darning needle.

  • Included with the class – pattern, instruction, support, laughs.

I will have yarn and needles available to purchase at the beginning of class- but bring what you have.   The right tools and materials make all the difference in minimizing frustration.  Learning on this weight of yarn, and larger needles is a great learning tool before you leap into lovely skinny sock yarn and wee needles.

I teach with fun, patience, 30 years of experience, and individualized attention.  Class minimum is 4 people maximum of 6.

Participants are required to show proof of double vaccination for Covid-19.  Covid-19 safety protocols are in place.

Cancellation policy: Up to two weeks before the class you can cancel and receive a full refund minus a $25 fee.  After that time, if you can not attend you can find someone else to take your place and pay you the registration fee.  You can also switch into another class for an additional fee of $50.   Covid-19 saftety policy is in place.

When you register you will recieve an email from me with all of the above info and updates.
