In my life written words have mostly been on paper;  hand printed, cursive, typed, scrawled, computer generated.  Trees are a precursor to paper and help give life to written words.  I am inspired by the textures of cut logs, their contrast, their growth rings a record of a life lived, a type of tree words.  What if a tree could speak our words?  I am also appalled by the clear cutting of trees, the destruction of a living micro-climate and ecosystem.  I hope to provoke thoughts about how we currently live on the earth in a selfish and egocentric way; valuing ourselves over all nature.  Maybe you are inspired to contemplate how to live more lightly, carefully and in harmony on our one home.
